Divisions of the Center for Suicide Awareness

The Center for Suicide Awareness is more than a single organization — it is a movement built on compassion, connection, and community. Alongside our core programs, we are honored to include several divisions that expand our mission and reach across Wisconsin and beyond. Each division reflects the same commitment to hope, healing, and prevention, while focusing on unique needs within their communities.

Yerbana – Seattle, WA

Yerbana is a [wellness] division of the nonprofit Center for Suicide Awareness, founded by University of Washington graduates. It exists to counter today’s crises of stress, burnout, depression, and suicide by making wellness accessible across physical, mental, social, and financial dimensions. Yerbana is proud to expand upon the credibility, mission, and resources of the Center for Suicide Awareness - and applies them through programs such as Yoga in the Park, inclusive wellness gatherings, and low- or no-cost offerings. In doing so, Yerbana acts as a bridge: using established nonprofit infrastructure while experimenting, expanding, and creating new wellness access points.

Mission Statement: To directly support service members, veterans, and first responders by funding personalized mental health and trauma recovery resources — including PTSD kits, therapeutic outings, and peer-led activities — based on evidence-based practices and real-world feedback gathered by trusted veteran advocates.

Core Objectives:

Mental Health Tools – Quickly identify and address needs in real time, providing things such as, Warrior Response Tool Kits, mental health coaching, and critical resources.

Filling Service Gaps – Bridge unmet needs not covered by existing organizations.

Advocate-Led Impact – Guided by insights, recommendations, and evidence-based practices from mental health professionals and veteran advocates on the ground.

Commitment to Suicide Prevention & Positive Mental Health:

Healing Veterans On The Move recognizes that untreated trauma, stress, and isolation can put veterans and first responders at greater risk for suicide. By providing practical resources, therapeutic opportunities, and peer-driven support, the program builds resilience and hope.

Through trauma-informed care, community connection, and wellness initiatives, Healing Veterans On The Move promotes positive mental health, emotional strength, and long-term recovery, ensuring those who served are never left to struggle alone.

Kenosha Walk

The Kenosha Walk is an annual community event, started by the Center for Suicide Awareness, rooted in remembrance and resilience. Each year, families, friends, and neighbors gather to:

  • Honor Loved Ones lost to suicide.
  • Raise Awareness by walking together and sparking conversations about mental health.
  • Promote Healing in a supportive, stigma-free environment.

This walk embodies the heart of the Center’s mission — that by walking side by side, we remind one another that no one walks alone.

Together, We Are Stronger

Each division of the Center for Suicide Awareness expands our reach and deepens our impact. Whether through grief support, community remembrance, or veteran wellness, we are united by a shared belief:

✨ Hope is powerful. Healing is possible. And together, we save lives.
