Mental Health Tuesdays

Kaukauna High School

Real conversations. Consistent presence. Trusted support.

Since the beginning of the school year, the Center for Suicide Awareness has partnered with Kaukauna High School to show up every Tuesday - creating a reliable space for students to learn, talk, and access mental health tools in a way that feels natural and stigma-free.

This isn't a one-time event. It's ongoing, relationship-based prevention.

Why Mental Health Tuesdays Matter

Youth mental health support works best when it's consistent, visible, and embedded into everyday school life.

Mental Health Tuesdays provide:

  • A regular, trusted presence inside the school environment
  • Early connection before a crisis happens
  • Education around coping skills, resilience, and emotional regulation
  • Access to resources and support pathways
  • A safe space for conversations that might not happen otherwise

We meet students where they are - literally and emotionally.

What Happens on Tuesdays

Each week, our team is on-site working alongside students and staff through:

  • Mental health activity tables
  • Coping skill demonstrations
  • Stress-relief tools and grounding exercises
  • Peer conversations and check-ins
  • Resource sharing (HOPELINE™, support options, community programs)
  • Relationship-building with trusted adults

No pressure. No labels. Just support.

Beyond Tuesdays

Our presence at Kaukauna High School extends beyond weekly visits.

We have also supported:

  • Merry Mental Health programming (multi-day on-site engagement)
  • Student-led conversations and awareness efforts
  • Collaboration with school staff and administration
  • Connection to additional Center for Suicide Awareness programs and trainings

This work is about building a culture - not just hosting activities.

Impact We're Seeing

While prevention work isn't always measurable in numbers alone, the outcomes show up in meaningful ways:

  • Students stopping to talk
  • Staff reaching out for resources
  • Increased comfort discussing mental health
  • Youth learning coping tools they can use immediately
  • Stronger school-community partnership

Consistency builds trust. Trust saves lives.

We collaborate with:
